Antenna placement decides a FLARM's range more than anything else, and sometimes the right place has the wrong geometry: a straight antenna would stand into a panel, a canopy rail or a fuselage former. The 90° antenna solves that with a right-angle SMA connector, so the antenna lies along the surface it mounts to instead of standing off it.

Use

For the FLARM 1 and FLARM 2 (diversity) connectors on a PowerFLARM Eagle, and any other FLARM device with an SMA antenna connector. The antenna is tuned for the 868 MHz FLARM band; it is not an ADS-B or GPS antenna.

Placement

What matters is what surrounds the antenna, not which way it points at the connector: keep it clear of carbon and metal, and check the result in the Eagle's range analyser after a few flights rather than assuming.
