The Traffic square is square, and most panels are drilled round. This adapter closes the gap for the 57 mm hole: a ring that mounts in the standard cutout and carries the display, with the screws to do it. The display's own 1:1 cutout template is still the neater installation if you are cutting a new panel; the adapter is for the panel that already has the hole.

Which adapter

This one is for the 57 mm (2.25 inch) cutout. The 80 mm (3.125 inch) adapter is a separate part.
