Details.
A FLARM with an ADS-B In module has a fourth antenna connector, and this is what goes on it: a T-shaped dipole for the 1090 MHz band on which transponder-equipped aircraft broadcast. It is supplied as a replacement, or as the antenna a second installation needs.
Placement
ADS-B reception is line of sight, and a dipole receives best when it stands vertically with nothing conductive around it. Mount it away from carbon and metal structure and away from the FLARM and GPS antennas, and route the lead clear of COM antenna cables. The range analyser in the Eagle's portal will show you what the position achieved.
Fit
SMA connector. For the PowerFLARM Eagle ADS-B, the PowerFLARM Eagle mobile ADS-B and the Navia Traffic ADS-B. The FLARM T dipole antenna is the same shape for the 868 MHz FLARM band — do not swap them.
