Details.

The BOM — Broadcasting Outer Module — is the only avionics suite that lives outside the aircraft: an aerodynamic pod under the wing that generates its own power from the airflow and streams what it measures to the tablets in the cockpit over WiFi. This is the version without the ADS-B In receiver, for pilots who fly where ADS-B traffic and weather are not broadcast, or who already have an ADS-B receiver on board.

What it measures

  • Attitude — a full AHRS for a backup horizon on your EFB
  • Airspeed — from its own pitot, matched to your V speeds
  • Angle of attack — from the pod's own probe, the stall margin no tablet can compute without it
  • WAAS GPS — position and track
  • Data recording — post-flight download of the whole flight

Why outside

The pitot, the AoA probe and the GPS antenna are all in clean air with nothing between them and the sky. A sensor box inside a cockpit is always negotiating with the airframe; the BOM never is.

A true backup

Self-powered and self-charging, independent of everything on the panel, and talking to up to five phones and tablets at once. When the panel goes dark, the BOM is still measuring and the tablet is still showing it.

Add ADS-B later

The receiver can be added to this unit afterwards — Levil offers the upgrade — so choosing the version without it now does not close the door.

The standard bracket fits it under a wing; a universal strut mount and an inspection-panel mount are available for other airframes.

Questions pilots ask.

Can I add ADS-B In later?

Yes — Levil offers the receiver as an upgrade to this unit, so choosing the version without it now does not close the door.

How is it mounted?

The standard bracket hangs it under a wing; a universal strut mount and an inspection-panel mount are available for other airframes.
