Many LX instruments can have a number of other units connected to the system bus and there are two types of splitting unit connectors normally used to facilitate this. Where the system is ordered as, for example, a double instrument for a 2-seater or if a Remote Control is specified, then the necessary splitter will normally be provided as part of the supplied installation package. In other cases a splitter will need to be provided separately. There are two types in common use; the 485 and 232.
