iris G-force 80
An 80 mm digital G-meter showing the current load on pilot and airframe with the minimum and maximum always in view on a 3.5 inch display, with a backup battery.
- Current load large in the centre, minimum and maximum held beside it until you reset them
- Bench-calibrated like every iris — reads the same at the top of the loop as at the bottom
- Brightness on the knob, so a night flight never touches the configuration

Details.
A G-meter is the instrument you look at after the manoeuvre, not during it — which is why the iris G-force keeps the minimum and the maximum on the face until you reset them. The current load is drawn large in the centre; the two extremes sit beside it, so what the airframe saw on the last pull is one glance away, not a memory. This is the 80 mm version, behind a 3.5 inch display.
Built for the aircraft that need one
Aerobatic trainers, Experimental aircraft flown near their limits, gliders that get wound up in strong thermals: anywhere the load factor is part of the flying, a dedicated, accurate G-meter earns its cutout. The iris G-force is calibrated on the bench like every iris and reads the same at the top of the loop as at the bottom.
Configured from a phone
Set up over WiFi through the CAN2WiFi device: scale, colour ranges for the limits of your aircraft, font size and background. Brightness is on the knob, so it can be turned down for a night flight without touching the configuration.
In the panel
- Standard 80 mm cutout, 82 × 82 × 52 mm, 278 g
- 3.5 inch transflective display
- 9–30 V DC, 250 mA at 12 V
- Built-in backup battery, up to 3 hours
Also available as the iris G-force 57 for a 57 mm cutout. Non-TSO: for ultralight, light-sport and Experimental aircraft.
Questions pilots ask.
Does it keep the peak load after the manoeuvre?
Yes — the minimum and maximum stay on the face until you reset them, so the load the airframe saw is one glance away.
Which cutout does it need?
A standard 80 mm cutout. The iris G-force 57 is the same instrument for a 57 mm cutout.
