Details.

The iris airspeed indicator does one job the way a glass panel should: indicated airspeed on a bright transflective display, with the arcs and the red line drawn for your aircraft rather than a generic scale. This is the 80 mm version — the same instrument behind a 3.5 inch display, for the panel that has the larger cutout and the pilot who wants the larger numbers.

Your speeds, not someone else's

The white, green and yellow arcs, the Vne line and the units are set in the configurator to match your flight manual. Change aircraft, change the arcs. Clubs can lock the configuration so nobody redraws the scale between flights.

More than indicated

Connect it to an iris altimeter over the CAN bus and it also shows true airspeed. Add the optional GPS module and you get ground speed as well — and with an outside air temperature probe on the altimeter, wind speed and direction.

Configured from a phone

Every iris is set up over WiFi through the CAN2WiFi device: colour ranges, values, units, font size, background and where each value sits on the face. Nothing is buried in a menu on the instrument itself, and nothing can be changed in flight by accident.

Questions pilots ask.

Does it show true airspeed?

Yes — when an iris altimeter is connected over the CAN bus. Add the iris GPS module for ground speed, and an OAT probe on the altimeter for wind speed and direction.

Which cutout does it need?

A standard 80 mm cutout, 52 mm deep plus connectors. The iris airspeed indicator 57 is the same instrument for a 57 mm cutout.
