Details.

An iris instrument measures the air. The GPS module tells it about the ground: connected to an iris airspeed indicator, altimeter or all-in-one, it adds ground speed to the face, and — with an outside-air-temperature probe on the same bus — lets the instruments work out wind speed and direction from the difference.

What you get

  • Ground speed on the iris airspeed indicator and the all-in-one
  • Wind speed and direction, when an OAT probe is also connected
  • Time from the satellites, for instruments that show it

In the box

The GPS module and its antenna. Mount the antenna with a clear view of the sky, never under carbon or a metal panel.

For the iris Gen 1 series. The iris chrono has its own GPS receiver built in and does not need this module.

Where does the antenna go?
