Replacing a Dittel FSG 71 or FSG 2T with a KRT2 should not mean tearing out a harness that works. This adapter mates the KRT2's connector to the plug the old radio left behind, so the existing wiring for power, headset, microphone and PTT carries straight over. Unplug the old radio, fit the adapter, plug in the KRT2.

What it saves

The harness in a glider or light aircraft is the part of a radio installation that takes the time — routing, crimping, labelling, and the inspection afterwards. Keeping it means a radio change is an afternoon rather than a weekend, and the connections that have already proven themselves in flight stay as they are.
