Details.
A KTX2 has the ADS-B Out hardware inside it from the factory. What it may not have is the function switched on. This code does that: generated for your transponder's serial number, entered once through the unit's menu, and the KTX2 begins broadcasting position as soon as it has a GPS source.
What you still need
ADS-B Out needs a position to broadcast. The code enables the function; the ADS-B Out kit supplies the certified GPS receiver, the harness and the DC/DC converter that feed it. If your KTX2 already has a GPS source wired in, the code alone completes the installation.
How it is delivered
By email, as a code generated for the serial number you give at checkout. Have the serial number of your KTX2 to hand — it is on the label and in the unit's info menu — and check that the code is entered on that unit only; it will not work on another.
Works with the KTX2-S, KTX2-S.v2 and KTX2-F.v2.
Questions pilots ask.
What else do I need for ADS-B Out?
A position source. The code enables the function; an ADS-B Out kit supplies the certified GPS receiver, harness and DC/DC converter — or a GPS mouse on the KBS1X harness. If your KTX2 already has a GPS source wired in, the code alone completes the installation.
Which transponders does it work on?
The KTX2-S, KTX2-S.v2 and KTX2-F.v2. The code works on the serial number it was generated for only.
