Navia Sense Airplane Pro
The Navia sensor unit for powered aircraft with an angle-of-attack sensor: airspeed to 250 kt, altitude, AHRS, AoA, high-accuracy OAT and a 25 Hz GNSS.
- Angle of attack from its own pressure port — a stall margin you see on the Display and feel in the Grip
- Calibrated airspeed to 250 kt, altitude, AHRS, high-accuracy OAT and a 25 Hz GNSS in a 138 g box
- With the Core Pro, its own air data and position: a failure elsewhere does not take the flight instruments with it
- Navia Sense Airplane Pro
- GNSS antenna, SMA, 1.5 m
- OAT sensor with crimped pins for the J300 connector set

Details.
Navia Sense is where the Navia system measures the air. The Airplane Pro is the powered-aircraft version with an angle-of-attack sensor added: calibrated pressure sensors for airspeed to 250 kt and altitude, an AHRS for attitude, AoA from its own pressure port, an outside-air-temperature input, and a GNSS receiver running at 25 Hz — the highest refresh rate in its class — with SBAS correction.
Why angle of attack
Airspeed tells you how fast the air is passing; angle of attack tells you how close the wing is to stopping flying, whatever the speed, weight or bank. On the Navia Display it becomes a margin you can see and a warning you can feel in the Grip — the stall warning that arrives from the wing itself rather than from a speed you were told to remember.
Which Sense for an aeroplane
- Sense Airplane — airspeed, altitude, AHRS, OAT, GNSS
- Sense Airplane Pro — this unit: adds the angle-of-attack sensor
- Sense Airplane Pro HS — the Pro with a high-speed sensor, for aircraft to 500 kt
Redundant by design
Paired with the Core Pro, the Sense gives the system its own air data and its own position, so a failure elsewhere does not take the flight instruments with it. Optional field pressure calibration keeps the readings honest over the years.
In the box
The Sense unit, its GNSS antenna, and the OAT sensor with crimped pins ready for the J300 connector set. The Sense wires to a serial port on the Core Pro; the J300 connector set is the mating half.
In the airframe
- 22 × 104 × 101 mm, 138 g
- 5 V, 0.8 W
- Two M2 threaded holes each side
- DO-160 qualified: −20 to +55 °C operating

Questions pilots ask.
Why angle of attack?
Airspeed tells you how fast the air is going past; angle of attack tells you how close the wing is to stopping flying, whatever the speed, weight or bank. It becomes a margin on the Navia Display and a stall alert in the Grip.
Which Sense for my aeroplane?
Sense Airplane for airspeed, altitude, AHRS, OAT and GNSS; Sense Airplane Pro adds the angle-of-attack sensor; Sense Airplane Pro HS is the Pro with a high-speed sensor for aircraft up to 500 kt.
