Details.

Schempp-Hirth self-launchers start the engine from a button, and at that moment the pilot's hand is on the stick. This is the Navia Grip built for them: everything the standard Grip has — the multitouch trackpad and scroll wheel, PTT and the voice-assistant button, the top function button, three vibration alerts, the heated perforated-leather handle — plus a red engine starter button between the PTT and the voice-assistant button, exactly where the thumb already is.

How it is wired

Two additional wires leave the Grip's main cable bundle. Your installer connects them to the engine start wiring point specified in the aircraft manual. The starter button does nothing else and is independent of the Navia system, so it works whatever the panel is doing.
