On a Navia panel the main display is the map, the task, the traffic and the vario at once. The vario indicator takes the vario back out: a dedicated readout of climb, so the number a glider pilot needs most stays where it always was — in a round hole, in peripheral vision — while the big screen is busy with the navigation. This is the 80 mm version, for the panel with the larger cutout.
How it connects
The indicator is wired over RS232 through a Navia Display's 9-pin D-Sub, or in parallel with the Navia Grip through the Grip adapter, and takes its 12 V from the same connection — the way we recommend, because it gives the needle the lowest possible latency. It also carries an external WiFi antenna and can instead receive its data wirelessly from the Core Pro. The J700 connector set is the mating half.

Sunlight-readable, 240 × 320 pixels, and qualified to the same DO-160 environmental categories as the rest of the Navia range: −20 to +55 °C operating, 45,000 ft, helicopter-grade vibration.

How does it connect?
By RS232 through the 9-pin D-Sub of a Navia Display, or in parallel with the Navia Grip through the Grip adapter, taking 12 V from the same link — the recommended way. It can also receive its data wirelessly from the Core Pro over the external WiFi antenna.
