The Navia Grip is the interface to the Navia system that lives in your hand. Everything the system needs from you — moving around the map, changing a frequency, answering a warning, talking to it — happens on the grip, so the hand on the stick stays on the stick and the eyes stay outside.
What is on it
- Multitouch trackpad — a mouse for the Navia Display; the four edges act as arrow keys for panning, and the whole pad clicks to select
- Scroll wheel — under the index finger at the back: zoom the map, scroll a menu
- PTT — hold to transmit on the radio
- Voice assistant — hold to talk to the Navia AI assistant; set a frequency, ask for a runway, declare a task, hands on the controls
- Top function button — short press switches speed-command and vario, long press marks a pilot event on the logger, double click cycles the map views; in a powered aircraft the short press engages the autopilot
What you feel
Three vibration motors give warnings a third sense: a stall warning, a collision warning, and a short pulse to confirm every button press registered. Warnings that reach the hand are warnings that get through when the eyes and ears are busy.
Heated, and made for a long day
The handle is heated — switched on from the dashboard on the Navia Display — under a perforated leather finish that breathes. The shape is ambidextrous: it reads the same in the left hand as in the right.
Connected
Bluetooth and WiFi built in. The grip plugs into a Navia Display, and its adapter can carry the vario indicator on the same wiring.

A standard 25.4 mm (1 inch) control column, in either hand — the shape is ambidextrous.
Can it drive a vario indicator?
Yes — the Grip adapter carries the Navia vario indicator's RS232 link on the same wiring.
Is there a version for a self-launcher?
Yes — the Navia Grip with starter button adds a red engine starter button between PTT and the voice button, wired to the start circuit, for Schempp-Hirth self-launchers.
