Details.
A glider with an electric trim actuator trims from a switch, and the switch belongs where the hand already is. This option adds the trim control to the LX joystick, so pitch trim is a thumb movement on the grip rather than a hand off the stick and a search for the switch.
How it is fitted
Ordered together with the joystick, or added to one you have. The trim wires run in the grip's cable bundle and are connected by your installer to the aircraft's trim circuit as the aircraft manual specifies; the button is not read by the instrument.
For gliders with electric trim. Combine it with the engine starter button on a Schempp-Hirth self-launcher.
Questions pilots ask.
Does the instrument read the trim button?
No — the trim wires are connected by your installer to the aircraft's trim circuit as the aircraft manual specifies.
