Navia Traffic (FLARM only)
Navia Traffic is a PowerFLARM-based collision avoidance unit built into the Navia system. It sees other FLARM-equipped aircraft and warns you while there is still time to do something about it.
Why FLARM matters in gliding
Gliders converge. They circle in the same thermals, run the same streets and cross the same ridges, often at closing speeds where see-and-avoid alone is optimistic. FLARM broadcasts your predicted flight path and listens for everyone else's, so a warning arrives before the other aircraft is a shape in the canopy.
In the Navia system
- Traffic appears directly on any Navia display — no separate screen needed.
- Alerts are spoken and spatial, so the direction you hear is the direction to look.
- Connects over the Navia network with a single cable carrying data and power.
